Spicy House is always on my must-visit list whenever I’m in San Diego, and it never disappoints! My favorites have always been their signature Hunan-style dishes mainly Mapo Tofu and Steamed Fish garnished with spicy sauce are absolutely outstanding. Every dish we ordered was incredibly flavorful and fresh. The spice levels were spot on for our taste buds—bold and authentic without being overwhelming. The consistency in taste and quality keeps me coming back every time I visit San Diego. Highly recommend Spicy House to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine especially with the Hunan touch!

Spicy House is our favorite authentic Szechuan Chinese place! There are so many dishes that are absolutely delicious but their spicy crispy fish is my favorite here and I always get it! It's SO fragrant but it packs a real punch, the aunties here are always so nice too. Their hot tea is my favorite anywhere, and is very fragrant and comforting. I love spicy house, and I love my spicy fried fish 🩷

Haven't been here in awhile and forgot how much I liked this place. This time around I opted for 1 beef dish and 2 fish dishes. Sizzling beef- was pretty good. A little on the chewy side. They pour the oil on it at the table. Spicy Fish- can't remember if it was the Szechuan style or Hot Pepper. Regardless, it was really good. Big portion sitting in a bowl of oil, chiles and veggies. Very spicy. Twice Cook Fish- probably my favorite dish I ate that night. Super crispy, super flavorful, super spicy. Couldn't stop eating it. Everything is a la carte family style servings. Reasonably priced. And if you cook at home, make sure you take the oil, chiles, and sauce with you. I made some stir frys at home, added the oil and veggies and it really punched up the flavors.

I ordered Dan Dan noodles and cold spicy chicken for take out. The noodles were ok but the chicken was very delicious. It’s my first time inside. It was traditional Chinese decoration. I’m impressed with the entrance. I’ll have to dine in soon and try other dishes.

First I just want to say that it is not necessarily expected for Chinese service staff to be really friendly or accommodating, especially to white English speaking people...not because there is any intended rudeness, but because of language or cultural differences when it comes to restaurant etiquette, etc. Having said that, the two waitresses that were on staff today were so nice and attentive and thoughtful. We loved their vibe. This was my first time trying proper authentic Sichuan food after doing a ton of research on what to order (years of research technically, watching tons of channels on YouTube that cover this style of food), and although not every single item was made exactly as it might be traditionally made (the Fu Qi Fei Pian didn't have tongue, heart or tripe for example...it only had the thin slices of beef flank), I found that everything was very close to how it is made in China, or exactly as it should be. We had the following (See pics with captions), and I recommend everything besides the stir fried potatoes (maybe there is a better way to get them than we did): 1. Mao Xue Wang 2. Shao Bai 3. Stir Fried Potatoes with vinegar 4. Fish & Tofu Mala (not sure
